Exhaust Manifold Installation (Left Side)

EXHAUST MANIFOLD INSTALLATION (LEFT SIDE)
1. Install the exhaust manifold gasket to the cylinder head.





2. Install the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the exhaust manifold nuts.
^ Tighten the nuts 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
5. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts.
^ Tighten the nuts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).

IMPORTANT: Inspect the EGR inlet pipe for leaks. Replace the EGR adapter if the pipe leaks.





6. Install the EGR inlet pipe to the exhaust manifold.
7. Install the EGR inlet pipe bolt and nuts.
^ Tighten the nuts to 50 Nm (36 ft. lbs.) and the bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





8. Install the left heated oxygen sensor into the exhaust manifold.
^ Tighten the sensor to 42 Nm (31 ft. lbs.).
9. Connect the heated oxygen electrical connector to the support bracket.
