Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement


Removal Procedure

Warning:Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .
Danger:To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
1.Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2.Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .





3.Remove the rear bumper impact bar to rear bumper impact bar bracket retaining nuts (2).

4.Remove the rear bumper impact bar (1).

Installation Procedure





1.Install the rear bumper impact bar (1) to the rear impact bar brackets.

Caution:Refer to Fastener Caution .

2.Install the rear bumper impact bar to rear bumper impact bar bracket retaining nuts (2).

2.1Install the upper retaining nuts first.

2.2Install the lower retaining nuts second.

2.3Tighten the nuts to22 N �m (16 lb ft).

3.Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

4.Lower the vehicle.
