Windshield Wiper System

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Puller (T10369)

Removing

CAUTION!
When disconnecting and connecting the battery, always perform the work procedure as described in the repair information. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Deactivate APP function, refer to => [ Wiper Motor Alternating Park Position Function, Deactivating ] Testing and Inspection.

- Let wiper run into rest position and then switch off ignition.

- Disconnect battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove wiper arms, refer to => [ Wiper Arms ] Wiper Arms.

Remove the plenum chamber cover.

Remove wiper frame with linkage and wiper motor, refer to => [ Wiper Frame with Linkage and Wiper Motor ] Service and Repair

Installing

- Insert wiper motor with frame and linkage into vehicle.





- Screw in upper mounting bolts - 1 -.

- Install lower nut with washer - 4 -.

- Tighten all threaded connections to specified torques shown in => [ Fastener Tightening Specifications, Windshield Wiper and Washer System ] Fastener Tightening Specifications, Windshield Wiper and Washer System.

- Reconnect and lock electrical connection - 2 - to wiper motor.

- Clip in wire bracket - 3 - into retaining plate bore.

- Install plenum chamber cover and plenum chamber seal in reverse order.

- Reconnect battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Install wiper arms, refer to => [ Wiper Arms ] Wiper Arms.
