Shift Cable: Adjustments
Adjusting the mechanical cable for the transmission
Note! Remove the air cleaner (ACL) housing. See Brake pipe master cylinder / ABS unit, replacing Brake Pipe Master Cylinder / ABS Unit, Replacing.
Preparations and adjusting the mechanical cable
Move the following to neutral:
- the transmission lever
- the lateral movement lever. Pry up the locking catch with a screwdriver. The lever is spring loaded. It will move to the correct position by itself. Leave the locking catch in position in the adjuster on the lateral movement lever.
Adjusting the lateral movement lever or the mechanical cable
Move the lever in one of the directions indicated by the arrow. Ensure that the mechanical cable does not move.
Press the locking catch into place on the lateral movement lever.
Check that the gear positions are easily engaged
Note! The position of gear 5 is close to gear 3.
Adjust if all gear positions cannot be selected easily.
Install the air cleaner (ACL) housing
