Wheel Alignment Data for Front and Rear Axles
When checking wheel alignment, following conditions ^ tire pressures correct
are important: ^ test surface level and horizontal
^ alignment should not be checked until vehicle has ^ vehicle bounced properly run 1000-2000 miles and coil springs have settled ^ steering gear correctly adjusted
^ vehicle empty ^ steering linkage free of play
Front axle (4000 Quattro) Adjusting Checking
Total toe, wheels not pressed + 10' 0~ to + 20'
Toe angle difference at 20~ lock to left and right (not pressed) - 1~ - 30' to - 1~30'
Camber, wheels in straight ahead position - 45' - 15' to - 1~15'
Maximum permissible difference between sides 30'
Caster (not adjustable) + 1~25' + 55' to + 1~55'
Corresponds to camber difference of a wheel on lock from
20~ left and 20~ right + 55' + 35' to + 1~15'
Maximum permissible difference between left and right 30'
