Window Regulator
1 - Assembly Carrier
• Assembly carrier removed
• Place new window regulator onto assembly carrier as shown.
• Note routing of cables.
• Note rivet sequence.
• Rivet window regulator first at top and bottom with one rivet each.
• Now, rivet the second upper rivet first.
2 - Aluminum Rivet
• Install rivet using special pop rivet pliers (V.A.G 1753A).
3 - Coupling Plate
• Door window is guided in driver
4 - Mount for Window Regulator Motor
• Threaded pins of mount must engage audibly in assembly carrier, refer to => [ Window Regulator Motor ]. Window Regulator Motor
5 - Steel Rivet
• Install rivet using special pop rivet pliers (V.A.G 1753A).
6 - Window Regulator
• Removal:
• Drill out rivets at top and bottom and knock rivet shafts out.
• Press together lugs of threaded pins at mount for window regulator motor from vehicle interior and slide mount through from inside toward outside.
• Remove window regulator from assembly carrier.
• Installing:
• Place window regulator onto assembly carrier as shown.
• Note routing of cables.
• Press threaded pins of mount for window regulator motor into assembly carrier.
• Threaded pins must engage audibly in assembly carrier.
• Rivet window regulator motor using special pop rivet pliers (V.A.G 1753 A).
Window Regulator Motor, Removing and Installing
- To remove, unscrew bolts - 2 - and remove window regulator motor - 3 - from assembly carrier - 1 -.
- When installing, tighten bolts to 3.5Nm.
Upper Door Hinge
- Top door hinge - 1 -.
- Torx bolts - 2 - (T45) installed on door side (32 Nm).
- Torx bolt - 3 - (T45) installed from outside vehicle (32 Nm).
- Torx bolt (T45) - 4 - ( installed from interior of vehicle ) 32 Nm.
- It is necessary to remove the instrument panel first before removing the door hinge.
- Front door - 5 -.
- Fender - 6 -.
Lower Door Hinge
- Bottom door hinge - 1 -.
- Torx bolts - 2 - (T45) installed on door side (32 Nm).
- Torx bolt - 4 - (T45) bolted to - A - pillar from interior of vehicle (32 Nm).
- Remove the trim at the bottom of the pillar - A -.
- Torx bolt - 3 - (T45) installed from outside vehicle (32 Nm).
- Front door - 5 -.
- Fender - 6 -.
