Power Front Memory Seats

• From 07.2006, the usual wiring harness routing to connector station under front seat => [ Connectors, Disconnecting ] Power Front Memory Seats Overview has been replaced with modular wiring routing => [ Modular Wiring Routing, from 07.2006, Assembly Overview ] Standard Front Seats Overview.

• The modular wiring routing has not been implemented for all countries.

• Check version of front seat and of vehicle and perform repairs accordingly.

• Note the two possible versions of the modular wiring routing, Modular Light or Modular => [ Modular Wiring Routing Versions ] Standard Front Seats Overview.



Memory Seat Control Module

• The control module for power seat with memory is located beneath the seat.

• With malfunctioning control module, the upper frame of seat pan with backrest must be loosened => [ Front Seat with Faulty Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Motor or Control
Module ].

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

• Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)

• Fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136)

• Removing





- Remove seat => [ Power Front Memory Seat ].

- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove bolts - 2 - (Qty. 2).

- Turn control module - 1 - around.

- Disengage retaining bracket - 4 - and disconnect connector - 5 -.





- Press in catches - 3 - (Qty. 2) and disconnect connector - 2 -.

- Remove control module - 1 -.

- Loosen control module from brackets (Qty. 2) at nuts (Qty. 2) on left and right.

• Installing

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. When doing so, note the following:

• Tightening specifications for bolts - 2 -: 1.5 Nm
