Alternator: Service and Repair

Fig. 4 Alternator Mounting:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove drive belt, refer to Drive Belt. Refer to Drive Belts,Mounts,Brackets and Accessories. Replace in appropriate engines section.
3. Disconnect oil/air separator hose, then vacuum harness bracket and position vacuum harness aside.
5. Remove two upper mounting bolts at top of alternator and one mounting bolt at bottom of alternator Fig.4 .
6. Disconnect electrical leads and remove alternator.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
