Oil Pan: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Drain the engine off. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.
3. Remove the torque converter cover. Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.

Notice: Refer to Oil Level Sensor Removal Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Remove the oil level switch. Refer to Engine Oil Level Switch Replacement in Powertrain Management.
5. Remove the torque axis mount bracket bolts.
6. Remove the oil pan bolts.
7. Remove the oil pan.
8. Remove the oil pan gasket.
9. Clean the oil pan and cylinder block mating surfaces.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the oil pan gasket.
2. Install the oil pan.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Important: Do not over tighten the oil pan bolts or damage to the pan could occur.

3. Install the oil pan bolts.
- Tighten the oil pan bolts to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.).
4. Install torque axis mount bracket bolts.
5. Install the torque converter cover. Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.





6. Install the oil level switch. Refer to Engine Oil Level Switch Replacement in Powertrain Management.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Refill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.
