Exhaust System: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove four nuts from the catalytic converter to the exhaust downpipe.





3. Remove the oxygen sensor heat shield and disconnect the oxygen sensor.





4. Remove the two nuts and bolts securing the center exhaust hanger to the body.





5. Remove the rear exhaust hanger attachment.
6. Remove the exhaust system.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the exhaust system.
2. Install the rear exhaust to the exhaust.
^ Tighten the nuts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).






3. Install the center exhaust hanger to the exhaust.
^ Tighten the nuts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).






4. Connect the oxygen sensor connector and install the oxygen sensor heat shield.





5. Install the four nuts to the exhaust downpipe to the catalytic converter.
^ Tighten the nuts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

6. Lower the vehicle.
