Flex Plate: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

- Tools Required
- J36660 Torque Angle Meter

1. Remove the transmission assembly. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.

Important: Do not reuse the flywheel bolts.





2. Remove eight mounting bolts and remove the flywheel and the reinforcement.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Position the flywheel and the reinforcement to the crankshaft and install eight mounting bolts.
- Using J36660 Tighten the bolts to 15 Nm + 50 degrees (11 ft. lbs. + 50 degrees).
2. Install the transmission assembly.
