Wiper Motor Replacement

TOOLS REQUIRED
^ J 39232 Wiper Linkage Separator
^ J 39529 Wiper Linkage Installer

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the wiper arms.
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the wiper motor.

IMPORTANT: Note the position of the crank arm on the old motor.




4. Position the old crank arm to the same position on the new motor.
Disconnect the transmission drive link socket from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232.
5. Remove the wiper motor from the plenum.
6. Remove the 3 screws from the wiper motor cover.
7. Remove the wiper motor cover from the old motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the wiper motor cover to the new wiper motor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the 3 screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

3. Position the wiper motor to the plenum.
4. Secure the transmission drive link socket to the wiper motor crank arm ball using the J 39529.




5. Install the 3 bolts to the wiper motor.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

6. Connect the electrical connectors to the wiper motor.
7. Install the air inlet grille panel.
8. Install the wiper arms.
9. Verify the wiper washer system operation.
