Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (LHD)

Removal Procedure





1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.





3. Remove the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt from the cylinder head.
4. Raise and Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the front air deflector.
6. Remove the power steering gear heat shield.
7. Remove the power steering return hose from the frame brackets.
8. Remove the power steering return hose to wiring harness tie straps.
9. Remove the power steering return hose from the wiring harness clip.
10. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.
11. Remove power steering return hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering return hose to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering gear.
Tighten power steering return hose to power steering gear to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the power steering return hose to the wiring harness clip.
4. Install the power steering return hose to wiring harness tie straps.
5. Install the power steering return hose to the frame brackets.
6. Install the power steering gear heat shield.
7. Install the front air deflector.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt to the cylinder head.
Tighten power steering return hose mounting bracket bolt to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).





10. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
11. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
12. Bleed the power steering system.
