Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (RHD)Removal Procedure
1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
3. Remove the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt from the cylinder head.
4. Raise and Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the tire and wheel.
6. Remove the power steering return hose from he brackets on the engine frame.
7. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering gear and position out of the way.
8. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.
9. Remove power steering return hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering return hose to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering gear.
Tighten power steering return hose nut to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear.
Tighten power steering pressure hose nut to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the power steering return hose to the brackets on the engine frame.
5. Install the tire and wheel.
6. Lower the vehicle
7. Install the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt to the cylinder head.
Tighten power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
8. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
9. Bleed the power steering system.
