Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS2)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the front air deflector.




3. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose from the power steering gear. Discard the O-ring seal.




4. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering cooler.




5. Open the routing clip (1) and remove the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose to the vehicle and fasten the routing clip (1).




2. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering cooler.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Important: Install a new O-ring seal on the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose.

3. Connect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose to the power steering gear.

Tighten the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose fitting to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

4. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
5. Install the front air deflector.
6. Lower the vehicle.
