System Check

1. Release parking brake, then turn ignition switch to Run position. Amber ANTI-LOCK indicator lamp should light for several seconds.
2. Apply and release parking brake. Red BRAKE indicator lamp should light when parking brake is applied.
3. Start engine. ANTI-LOCK indicator lamp should remain illuminated during cranking.
4. Test drive vehicle at speeds between 20 and 30 mph. Use normal braking procedures to stop vehicle. Brake should operate smoothly and ANTI-LOCK indicator lamp should remain out.
5. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE if steps 1 through 4 are not satisfactory.
