Interior Lamps Controlled by Panel Dimmer Switch do not Operate (Replace Instrument Panel Cluster)

Condition
Some owners may comment that the interior lamps controlled by the panel dimmer switch do not operate.
Cause
On some base level instrument panel clusters, the receptacle terminal for the ground pin of the temperature gauge is turned 90 out of position. The terminal's tab may be too close to the 8 CKT (dimming circuit) causing a short circuit.
Correction
Replace instrument panel cluster. Refer to Section 8C in the Service Manual for procedure.
