Generator Replacement

CS-144 Generator Mounting:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

CAUTION: Refer to "Service Precautions".

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Serpentine drive belt.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Positive battery cable from generator "BAT" terminal.
5. Electrical connector from generator (5).
6. Generator bolts/screws (9, 17 and 21) and nut (61) at generator (5).
7. Generator rear nut (12) at generator rear inner brace (10).
8. Generator rear inner brace (10).
9. Generator (5) from accessory mounting bracket (7).

INSTALL OR CONNECT

NOTICE: Refer to "Service Precautions".

1. Generator (5) to accessory mounting bracket (7).
2. Generator rear inner brace (10).
3. Generator rear nut (12) at generator rear inner brace (10).
Tighten
^ Generator rear brace nut (12) to 33 N.m (24 lb. ft.).
4. Generator bolts/screws (9, 17, and 21) and nut (61) at generator (5).
Tighten
^ Generator bolts/screws (9,17, and 21) to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).
5. Electrical connector to generator (5).
6. Positive battery cable to generator "BAT" stud.
Tighten
^ Positive battery cable nut to 22 N.m (16 lb. ft.).
7. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
8. Serpentine drive belt.
9. Negative battery cable.
Tighten
^ Negative battery cable bolt/screw to 15 N.m (11 lb. ft.).
