Exhaust Heat Shield Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the intermediate pipe assembly. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement.
3. Remove the closeout panel bolts.
4. Remove the closeout panel.





5. Drill out the heat shield rivets.
6. Remove the heat shield.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the heat shield.
2. Install new heat shield rivets.





3. Install the closeout panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the closeout panel bolts.
Tighten the closeout panel bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
5. Install the intermediate pipe assembly. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement.
6. Lower the vehicle.
