Fuel Tank Heat Shield Replacement

Removal Procedure
Use the following procedure to service either the left or right heat shields.





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the fuel tank shield mount nut (2).
3. Remove the fuel tank shield mount bolt.
4. Remove the fuel tank shield (3).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the fuel tank shield (3).
Insert the fuel tank shield into the strap and over the strap stud.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the fuel tank shield mount bolt.
Tighten the fuel tank shield mount bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the fuel tank shield mount nut (2).
Tighten the fuel tank shield mount nut (2) to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.
