Linear Shift Assembly Replacement - On Vehicle
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the shift lever assembly. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle.
2. Remove the knee bolster.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator.
4. Remove the lock control actuator. Refer to Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Actuator Replacement.
5. Place the lock cylinder in the OFF-LOCK position.





6. Remove the screws from the linear shift assembly.
7. Remove the linear shift assembly from the steering column.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the linear shift assembly to the steering column.
Tighten the shift assembly screws to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).
2. Connect the electrical connector to the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator.
3. Install the lock control actuator. Refer to Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Actuator Replacement.
4. Install the shift lever assembly. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle.
5. Install the knee bolster.
