Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement (V8)
Removal Procedure
1. Place drain pans under the vehicle.
2. Remove the mass airflow sensor with the intake air temperature sensor. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose bracket to frame retaining bolt (4).
5. Loosen the hose clamp (2) and disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (3) from the power steering fluid reservoir (1).
Plug the power steering fluid reservoir.
6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
7. Remove the front air deflector.
8. Loosen the hose clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering cooler (3).
Plug the power steering cooler.
9. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the hose clamps on the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (2).
2. Position the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose in the vehicle.
3. Remove the plug from the power steering cooler (3).
4. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose to the power steering cooler. Secure the hose with the clamp (1).
5. Install the front air deflector.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the plug from the power steering fluid reservoir (1).
8. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose (3) to the power steering fluid reservoir. Secure the hose with the clamp (2).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
9. Install the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe/hose bracket to frame retaining bolt (4) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
10. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair.
11. Install the mass airflow sensor with the intake air temperature sensor. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.
12. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding Service and Repair.
13. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
14. Remove the drain pans.
