Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Loosen the fuel tank straps (2) inorder to lower the fuel tank enough to gain access to the evaporative emission canister release tab. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement Fuel Tank Replacement.




2. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge pipe (1) and the fuel tank vent pipe (2) from the evaporative emission canister (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.




3. Release the canister retaining tab (4) from the canister bracket (3).

4. Remove the evaporative emission canister (1), from the fuel tank (2)

Installation Procedure




1. Install the evaporative emission canister to the fuel tank.

2. Verify the canister locking tab (1) snaps into place in the canister bracket (2).




3. Connect the evaporative emission canister purge pipe (1) and the fuel tank vent pipe (2) to the evaporative emission canister (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.




4. Lift up the fuel tank into position and install both tank straps (2) to the fuel tank and chassis. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement Fuel Tank Replacement.
