Header Assembly

HEADER ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. Remove both tension cables.
2. Remove the cover assembly rivets to the rear of the header assembly.
3. Remove the rivets attaching the stay pad straps to the header assembly.
4. Remove the four linkage bolts and remove the header assembly.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Make sure the mounting bushings are installed in the header assembly before installing the bolts.

1. Install the header assembly and install the bolts.
2. Tighten the rear rail bolts to 18 N.m (13 ft.lbs.).
3. Tighten the balance link shoulder bolts to 20 N.m (15 ft.lbs.).
4. Position the stay pad straps onto the header assembly and install new rivets.
5. Position the cover assembly onto the back of the header and install new rivets.
6. Install the both tension cables.
