Removal and Installation

1. Remove some fluid from master cylinder reservoir.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove front wheels.
4. Disconnect brake pad wear warning lamp electrical connector.
5. Return piston into its bore by sliding caliper outward.
6. Remove lower caliper guide attaching bolt. Remove caliper by rotating it up from guide pivot and sliding it from upper guide pivot.
7. Remove brake pads.
8. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. After removal of brake pads, inspect disc brake rotor. Do not machine rotor. Replace rotor if excessive wear or scoring is evident.
b. Torque caliper guide attaching bolt to 18 ft. lbs.
