Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Description and Operation

This system is used to prevent blow-by gasses created within the engine from being emitted to the atmosphere. During engine operation, these blow-by gasses are drawn into the induction system and into the combustion chamber where they are burned along with the normal air/fuel mixture.
