Fuel Pump Replacement

Fig. 15 Fuel pump & filter assembly:

The fuel pump and filter assembly is located on a plate under the vehicle in front of the rear axle assembly.
1. Using suitable tool, clamp inlet and outlet hoses, then disconnect hoses at pump or filter.
2. If replacing pump, disconnect pump electrical connectors, Fig. 15.
3. Remove pump or filter retaining strap attaching screw, then the pump or filter.
4. Install pump or filter into position and secure with retaining strap.
5. If replacing pump, reconnect electrical connectors. The electrical connectors are different sizes to ensure that they will be installed to the correct terminals.
6. Reconnect hoses to pump or filter, then remove clamping tool.





If testing requires removal of any fuel system component, always depressurize fuel system before removal of component.
