ISSUE: A no start condition or bucking condition may be caused by a loose air cleaner outlet tube at the vane air meter. This condition is most noticeable at 30~ F or below (-1~ C or below).

ACTION: Install a new air cleaner outlet tube which is more resistant to cracking. Refer to the following service procedure.

FIGURE 1:

Removal

1. Loosen the clamps at each end of the air cleaner outlet tube, Figure 1.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube from the vane air flow meter and throttle body.

Installation

1. Place clamps on each end of the new air cleaner outlet tube.

2. Position the air cleaner outlet tube on the vane air flow meter and throttle body.

3. Tighten the clamps to 3-4.7 ft.lbs. (4-5 N-m.)
