Air Injection Pump: Description and Operation

AIR Pump:

A positive displacement, vane-type air pump supplies air for the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) system. The pump is belt driven and mounted to the front of the engine. Pumps receive air from a remote silencer filter or from clean air side of the engine air cleaner attached to the pumps air inlet fitting or through an impeller type centrifugal filter fan.
