AFFECTED VEHICLES
The following 3.0L engine and manual transmission equipped Taurus SHO cars are affected by this program.

NOTE:
Most of these vehicles are also involved in Owner Notification Program 93B19. Check OASIS. Dealers are to complete both owner notification programs, if applicable, before releasing the vehicle.

REASONS FOR THIS PROGRAM
The affected cars may have long cranking times or no start conditions caused by reduced engine cranking speeds. This condition is corrected by changing the existing 10 tooth pinion starter to a 12 tooth pinion design.

SERVICE ACTION
To correct this condition, the starter motor assembly will be inspected and, if necessary, replaced.

REFUNDS
Only for owner-paid repairs made before date of Owner Letter.
