Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION
1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the vehicle and applying the brakes under different conditions to duplicate the condition.
2. Visually inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:
Mechanical:
- Low brake fluid.
- Damaged brake lines/hoses.
- Damaged ABS sensor.
- Damaged ABS sensor Indicator.
- Parking brake binding.
- Improperly inflated tires.
- Mismatched wheels or tires on vehicle.
- Damaged wheel bearings.
Electrical:
- Blown Fuses:
- Power Distribution Box Fuse
- ABS (60A)
- Fuse Junction Panel
- Fuse 7 (10A)
- Fuse 9 (15A)
- Fuse 15 (10A)
- Burned out warning indicator lamp bulb.
- Damaged wiring harness.
- Damaged connectors.
- Disconnected/corroded connectors.
3. If the inspection reveals an obvious concern that is readily serviced, correct the concern and retest before continuing.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, perform the Quick Test, retrieve DTCs and service. If no DTCs are present determine the symptom(s) and go to Diagnosis by Symptom.
