Shift Cable: Adjustments
DESCRIPTIONTransmission control linkage adjustments should be performed in the order in which they appear.
NOTE: The transmission range selector lever should be held against the rearward DRIVE stop with a 1.4 kg (3 lb) rearward load when the linkage is adjusted.
PROCEDURE
1. Position the transmission range selector lever in DRIVE position. Make sure that the lever is tight against the rearward DRIVE stop.
2. Raise the vehicle and loosen the manual control lever shift cable retaining nut. Move the transmission manual control lever to the DRIVE position, third detent position from the full counterclockwise position.
3. With the transmission range selector lever held rearward and manual control lever in the DRIVE position, tighten the retaining nut to 17-23 Nm (13-16 ft. lbs.).
4. Check the operation of the transmission in each transmission range.
