Removal and Installation





1. Remove the driver air bag module. For additional information, refer to Air Bag Systems.
2. Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.





3. If equipped, disconnect the speed control electrical connector.





4. Remove the bolt and the steering wheel.
^ To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

5. WARNING: When installing the steering wheel, make sure the air bag sliding contact is centralized. For additional information, refer to Air Bag Systems. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

CAUTION: After installation, check the correct location of the steering wheel on the steering column shaft by turning the steering wheel in a counterclockwise direction.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
