Valve Guide: Service and Repair

The valve guides on these engines are pressed into the cylinder head. If clearance exceeds the service limit, replace valve guides with new oversized replacements of .002 inch (size ``5''), .010 inch (size ``25'') or .020 inch (size `50''). Machine valve guide bore in cylinder head to .5138-.5145 inch for valve guides marked ``5,'' .5217-.5224 inch for valve guides marked ``25'' or .5315-.5322 inch for valve guides marked ``50.''
