Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Description and Operation

PURPOSE/OPERATION
The idle speed actuator is a double coil type. The two coils are driven by separate driver stages in the Engine Control Module (ECM). One coil receives the opposite signal of the other. Depending on the pulse factor the balance of the magnetic forces of the two coils results in different angles of the motor. This in turn operates a throttle bypass valve controlling the idle.
