IMPORTANT:
DEALERS MUST PERFORM THIS CAMPAIGN ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES PRIOR TO CUSTOMER RETAIL DELIVERY AND WHENEVER AN AFFECTED VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR.

IMPORTANT:
WHEN A VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ACCESS HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA'S "WARRANTY VEHICLE INFORMATION" SCREEN VIA DCS ON-LINE TO IDENTIFY OPEN CAMPAIGNS.

DESCRIPTION:

The shift cable snap pin washer may not have been installed in some 2006MY and 2007MY Tiburons equipped with the 2.7L engine and 5-speed manual transaxle.

This bulletin describes the procedure to inspect and/or install the shift cable snap pin washer.

VEHICLES AFFECTED:
^ Model
^ TIBURON (GK) - 2.7L engine equipped with the 5-speed manual transaxle

^ Affected vehicle production date range:
^ August 10, 2006 to January 26, 2007





PART(S) REQUIRED

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

INSPECTION:





1. Verify that the vehicle is identified with an open Campaign T41 before starting repair. Locate the shift cable linkage (A).








2. Visually inspect and verify that the shift cable snap pin washer is installed.

NOTE:
If the snap pin washer is installed - no further action is required.

NOTE:
If the snap pin washer is NOT installed - refer to the installation procedure below.

1. Remove the snap pin (B) from the shift lever linkage.





2. Install the snap pin washer (C).





3. Re-install the snap pin (D).
