M30 FRONT BRAKE GRIND NOISE


APPLIED MODEL: All 1990 M30

SERVICE INFORMATION:

On some of the applied models, the customer may experience a grinding noise during brake application. A "roughness" in the brake pedal or body of the vehicle may also be noticed during this incident.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

Verify that the noise occurs during the following conditions:

^ Brakes are at operating temperature
^ Light to moderate brake application
^ Low vehicle speeds during braking (15-25 mph)

If meets the above criteria, replace the front brake pads with the countermeasure parts listed below. The new pads have a revised slot and have been adopted for the 1991 model.
