SERVICE INFORMATION

The United States Congess recently amended the National Traffic and Motor Vehicles Safety Act. This amendment prohibits a dealer from selling a new vehicle which is the subject of a safety recall campaign unless that vehicle has had the campaign performed prior to sale. Violation of this law can result in substantial civil penalties. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which is responsible for enforcing this law, has requested that Nissan inform its dealers of this law. In a separate communication, NHTSA has advised Nissan that for future recalls involving new vehicles we must report campaign corrections on vehicles in dealer inventory.

In the event that Infiniti ever conducts a safety recall which involves new vehicles, we will put a reminder in the recall campaign bulletin that you must correct any vehicles in inventory prior to sale.
