SERVICE INFORMATION
When servicing the windshield wiper motor assembly, the protective bag must be sealed to prevent the entry of water.
If the wiper motor being serviced is not equipped with the following parts, they must be ordered from your facing Parts Distribution Center and installed on the replacement motor. (Refer to illustrations).
PARTS
Shaft Seal - Part Number 8-94146-667-0
Rubber Band - Part Number 8-94147-001-0
Holder (Washer) - Part Number 8-94147-000-0
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Place wiper motor in protective bag. Install rubber band around the lower portion of the protective bag. (Refer to Illustration #1). Pull the upper cover over the lower protective bag containing the wiper motor assembly.
2. Apply silicone sealer to the plastic protective bag where the motor housing protrudes through the bag. (Refer to Illustration #1).
3. Install the wiper motor holders (washers) between the motor mount boss and its bracket. Install the shaft seal over motor pivot boss. (Refer to Illustration #2).
4. Apply silicone sealer under the mounting screw heads, and secure the motor assembly to the mounting bracket. (Refer to Illustration #2).
5. Reinstall the wiper motor and mounting bracket assembly onto the vehicle.
