Head Restraint Equipped With Rear Entertainment Screen - Removal Procedure

Issue:

This Technical Bulletin has been issued for information only with care points for the removal of a head restraint that has a rear entertainment screen.

Action:

To remove a head restraint that has a rear entertainment screen, carry out the following workshop procedure care points outlined below.

RESTRAINT REMOVAL CARE POINTS

1. Refer to the removal and installation procedure in the Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 501-10, SRO 76.70.14, but observe the following notes and cautions:

Note:
The tang on the head restraint finisher cannot be pressed in with the head restraint in position in the seat. The metal stem blocks the movement of the tang.

Caution:
The cable must remain within the cavity when the head restraint stalks are withdrawn from the seat back guides to prevent damage.

Note:
At step 9 and 10 in JTIS CD ROM, section: 501-10, SRO 76.70.14, before fully extracting the head restraint stalks from the seat guides, follow the care points outlined below.

2. Slide the plastic insert along the cable (see 1, Illustration 1) and reposition the cable within the stalk cavity (see 2, Illustration 1).

3. Withdraw the head restraint stalks from the seat back guides (the cable remains captive within the guide).
