Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill (44.24.02)





Special Service Tools

Drain
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Place a suitable container under the transmission.





3. Using the special tool, remove the transmission fluid filler plug.
^ Remove and discard the sealing washer.





4. NOTE: If an internal problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metallic particles may be found from normal wear. However, if excessive metallic particles are present, internal inspection may be required.

Remove the transmission fluid drain plug.
^ Remove and discard the sealing washer.





5. Install the transmission fluid drain plug.
^ Install the new sealing washer.
^ Tighten to 8 Nm.

Refill





1. NOTE: Use transmission fluid meeting Jaguar specification.

Fill the transmission with 8 liters of transmission fluid through the transmission fluid filler plug hole.
2. Carry out a transmission fluid level check.
