Ignition System: Description and Operation

Ignition timing and fuel injection timing are controlled by ECM, which detects positions of crankshaft and camshaft by the sensors for crank (CKP) and TDC sensor, and the data set in the memory.

ECM, after determination of ignition timing, sends a signal to power transistor for cutting the primary current to activate the ignition coil and further control the ignition timing to the optimum point.
