Generated Electric Current Control
Generated electric current control
The ECM detects the FR signal from the FR terminal of generator, computes the average duty rate and controls terminal G to control the generated electric current after determination of the generated current depended on the engine rate and FR duty, for the engine rate decrease prevention purpose at electrical loading.
Engine Current Control Circuit:
Terminal B14 of engine ECM receives the input of FR signal from each generator in an interval of one cycle and, after computation of the average value, controls the engine ECM A8 terminal G for generated electric current control with the current value determined based on engine rate and FR duty.
If A8 terminal is not grounded, electric current is applied on TR1 base through the lamp (terminal L of dashboard) and TR1 is operated. If TR1 is operated, the current on TR2 base will not be capable to flow through the Zener diode and TR2 will not be operated so the electric current, after flowing through the lamp (terminal L), will be applied on TR3 to operate it.
With operating of TR3, the current, after flowing through the rotor coil, will be grounded after flowing through TR3. It is the time when generation is in operation.
In reverse, if terminal A8 of engine ECM is grounded, TR1 will not be operated, but TR2 will. Finally, TR3 will not be operated if TR2 is not operated and there will not current flow on the rotor coil.
Therefore, the generation control is capable by controlling the time period of ECM terminal A8 ON/OFF.
