Solenoid Valve Body

1. Discharge system and disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect electrical connectors from fluid reservoir cap, main valve, solenoid valve block, pressure warning switch, hydraulic pump motor and ground connector from actuation assembly.
3. Disconnect brake tubes from solenoid valve block one at a time. Immediately plug each threaded tube opening in valve body to prevent fluid loss. Do not allow brake fluid to contact any electrical connectors.
4. Using an 8mm hex wrench, loosen and completely remove accumulator.
5. Working inside passenger compartment, disconnect actuation assembly push rod from brake pedal as follows:
a. Disconnect stoplamp switch wires at connector on brake pedal.
b. Remove hairpin connector at stoplamp switch on brake pedal and slide switch off of pedal pin far enough for switch outer hole to clear pin.
c. Remove switch using a twisting motion, using caution not to damage switch.
d. Remove four retaining nuts at dash panel.
6. Inside engine compartment, remove actuation assembly from dash panel.
7. Gently clamp off reservoir to actuation assembly brake fluid supply hose to prevent loss of reservoir fluid.
8. Using a 13mm hex socket, remove three nuts holding valve block to actuation assembly.
9. Slide valve block away from actuation assembly until it clears three mounting studs and remove from actuation assembly.
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Use new O-rings, lubricated with brake fluid, in four ports of valve block mounting face.
b. Torque valve block mounting nuts to 15-21 ft. lbs.
c. Torque four actuation assembly locknuts to 13-25 ft. lbs.
d. Following installation, turn ignition to Run position. Wait until Brake and ABS indicators go out, the apply brake pedal with medium force and hold for 15-30 seconds and release. Repeat three times.
e. Check for leaks at valve block tube seats and mating surface.
