Courtesy Lamp: Description and Operation

Voltage is applied, at all times, through Fuse 8 to the I/P Illumination Dimming Control and the other switches in the Courtesy Lamp circuit.

When the I/P Illumination Dimming Control or a Door Jamb Switch is closed, current flows through the I/P Courtesy Lamps, the Dome Lamps, the Door Lamps and the Rear Reading Lamps. Individual Reading Lamps can also be turned on by the individual Reading Lamp Switch when the Ignition Switch is in ACC or RUN.

Vanity Mirror Lamps have voltage applied to the individual switches at all times. When the mirror cover is opened, current flows through the 2 amp fuse and resistor to provide subdued lighting to the mirror. Closing the mirror lamp intensity switch applies full battery voltage to the lamp circuit, and the Vanity Mirror Lamps brightness is increased.
