Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Position the windshield washer reservoir aside.
1 Remove the bolt.
2 Position the windshield washer reservoir aside.







3. Disconnect the windshield washer pump electrical connector.







4. Disconnect the windshield washer fluid level sensor.

WARNING: WINDSHIELD WASHER SOLUTION CONTAINS METHANOL WHICH IS POISONOUS. OBSERVE ALL CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS INDICATED ON LABEL OF WASHER SOLUTION CONTAINER.







5. Remove the windshield washer reservoir.
1 Disconnect the windshield washer hose.
2 Remove the windshield washer reservoir.

NOTE: Windshield washer fluid should he collected in a container after the windshield washer hose is disconnected.







6. Remove the windshield washer pump.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

CAUTION: Do not make electrical connection prior to filling the windshield washer reservoir . Do not operate the windshield washer pump prior to filling the windshield washer reservoir.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
