Recall - EVAP system: Overview

SUBJECT: Recall Campaign Number 20604 1986 626 Evaporative Emission System
Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct a recall campaign for the evaporative emission system on certain 1986 626 models starting on April 18, 1986.
Mazda found that some of the 1986 626's might fail to conform to the Federal and California evaporative emission standards due to non-actuation of one of the purging functions. This condition is caused by improper routing of the vacuum hose in the evaporative emission control system.
Detailed procedures for this recall are shown on attachment sheets I and II. The letter to be sent to the owners is attachment sheet III.
If the subject vehicles are in your inventory, you are requested to complete the necessary repair work before sales.
