Fig. 17 Shift-Up Indicator Light Testing:

1. Ground 1S terminal G of the control unit Fig. 17.
2. Shift the transmission into a forward gear (not 5th gear).
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Verify that the shift indicator light illuminates.
4. If the shift indicator light does not illuminate, check the shift indicator bulb and circuit.
