Shift Interlock: Adjustments

Inspection

NOTE: Shift the selector lever from P range to other ranges with the ignition switch ON and the brake pedal depressed.




1. Verity that the selector lever can only be shifted as shown in the figure.
2. Verify that there is a click at each range when shifted from P -> L range.
3. Verify that the positions of the selector lever and the indicator are aligned.
4. Verify that the button returns smoothly when pushed.

Adjustment



1. Shift the selector lever to P range.
2. Loosen the selector cable mounting bolts.
3. Push the selector lever against P range and hold it.
4. Tighten the selector cable mounting bolts.

Tightening torque: 7.9 - 10.7 N.m {80 - 110 kg.cm, 70 - 95.4 in.lbf}
