BLOWER MOTOR BRUSH NOISE

APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS

1995 Protege vehicles with a VIN of JM1BA1***S0116078 and lower

DESCRIPTION

A brushing noise may be heard from the blower motor during operation. A blower motor cover has been established to reduce this noise.





If a customer complains of this noise, install the cover as shown in this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify the noise is coming from the blower motor.

2. Remove the air hose and one bolt from the blower motor housing.

NOTE:
Place the cover onto the blower motor to determine which bolt to remove.

3. Install the cover onto the blower motor housing with the removed bolt.

4. Install the air hose into the hole provided in the cover.

NOTE:
The air hose is required for blower motor cooling and must be installed correctly.

5. Verify repair.
